Lil’ Fashionista weekend workshops with Jamia and Rio (owner/designer)

Join Jamia and Rio this summer, as they open the doors of a fashion/art/music shop in Hollywood, to kids’ creativity. Beauty is Pain (don’t be scared by the name!) is a colorful, fun and exciting little boutique, which will be transformed into an inspiring and vibrant workspace for kids to explore the world of fashion and jewelry design. Each weekend class will feature different surprise projects, such as decorating tees, humane vegan boas, bowtie necklaces and a special introduction to sewing, appropriate for young children.

The workshops are held from 1-2:30 pm on Saturdays. The price of 1 workshop is $30 per child. Sign up for all 5 workshops in July for a total fee of $120! There is plenty of free parking. Parents can drop their children off or stay for the class. They can also leave their child later, for an additional fee, inquire upon signup.

LOCATION:

The workshops are held at “Beauty is Pain,” Rio’s shop, at 1443 N. Highland Ave, Hollywood, CA 90028 (Highland and Sunset).

Rio has been involved in the arts and fashion community in Los Angeles for over ten years and has done everything from fashion shows, showing art, organizing art events and showcasing local artists, to working on music video sets and creating custom pieces for Fergie, Rhianna and Lady Gaga.

Beauty Cuties is coming!

"Beauty Cuties" lil fashionista workshops, an extension of my jewelry and fashion classes I taught at the amazing Larchmont Charter School (LCW) in West Hollywood this year, is continuing into the summer and beginning this weekend. We will be starting with a special 4th of July hat project, with some surprises along the way. On July 17th, there will be an awesome tee shirt workshop that includes tie dye and other fun ways to decorate the tees that will be provided. TuLA's at School

I work at the most amazing charter school in West Hollywood, CA. LCW is such an awesome place with wonderful bright eyed and fun loving children, at that most magical age of Kindergarten and First Grade. We have a garden, cooking classes and Yoga too! Here, our beautiful goddess of a yoga instructor Saska, models a TuLA skirt that she'll wear when she does yoga. The great thing about the skirts is how they move with you, so they're perfect for dancers.



































This little girl is wearing a TuLA skirt her mom bought for her at our school's music night and silent auction we had at The Cabana Club in Hollywood recently. Our school is very new, only in it's second year and we raised over $20,000 at this very special event! I donated a TuLA skirt to be auctioned off and mom's were actually fighting over it! Here is Piper on the playground with the purple TuLA, complete with rick rack waistband and fabric flower. I think those little girl's in the background could very well be jealous! The skirt is perfect over leggings, and leggings are usually what these little girls come to school wearing.
